Synopsis

The famous director, Luc Besson, reveals the real life story of freedom fighter, Aung San Suu Kyi, in an extremely thick narrative plot. Aung San Suu Kyi, who was a Burmese opposition politician and the General Secretary of the National League for Democracy, and sacrificed her personal life for the sake of Burmese people. Aung San, who was considered as the father of the modern-day Burma, was her father.

The role of Aung San Suu Kyi is played by Michelle Yeoh and David Thewlis portrays as her husband. The story of the movie revolves around the struggle of a woman, who sacrificed everything for the sake of others. As you watch The Lady online, you are sure to develop a sense of respect for the central character of the movie, excellently portrayed by Michelle Yeoh.  Suu Kyi lost her father when she was 3-years-old. Her father was a divine man and a pro- democracy leader, who was killed brutally in a terrorist attack. Afterwards, she married Michael Aris, a British Professor and became the mother of two kids. Everything was going well in her life, when she suddenly received the news of her mother's illness in Burma, her birth place.

When she came back to meet her deceased mother, she met many victims of Tatmadaw crackdown on 8888 uprising.
