Synopsis

Writer-director Ti West takes a slow yet conformist approach to a complex blend of humor, fright and suspense. The plot constructs pillars of fear letting the audience anticipate the rest of the fright gradually. The most intense of frightful scenes have a tinge of humor added to them in order to lighten up scenes and allow the audiences to breathe respite amidst the terrifying developments in the plot.

In the final week of the inn’s operation, the staff decides to unravel all the mystery that the inn had been known for, and search it inside-out for supernatural elements, if any. As we watch The innkeepers online, we find two disinterested clerks of the hotel turn into ghost-hunters, determined to find proof to supernatural existence on that premises with a few flashlights and a mobile cassette desk. The story here takes an unnatural turn, when supernatural elements track these hunters down before they can even feel the forces approaching them. The Yankee Pedlar Inn was infamous for being haunted, and it was finally pulling down shutters for good. Claire and Luke are the employees, who suddenly get inflicted with a fever to unravel secrets of England’s most haunted hotel.

As the hotel gets ready to close down in its final days, strange guests begin to check-in one after the other, and Luke and Claire are exposed to alarming and odd events that go on to stream in reasons in order to explain the Inn’s age-old history.
