Synopsis

All of us pine for having the life of a superstar one day - flashy cars, a steady stream of money and all the comforts in the world. Platinum Illusions is the story of a Latino hip-hop artist, Oscar, who had it all, but had to give it up, when he realized that 'all that glitters is not really gold' in the big, bad world of showbiz. Oscar was a part of a criminal gang earlier. The death of both his parents and the responsibility of raising his younger brother Pedro, however, turned his life around. With the support and motivation given by his girlfriend and his band, he makes an attempt at venturing into the competitive music world. Being a talented Latino hip-hop singer, Oscar is confident of his abilities. One fateful night, a chance encounter with a hip-hop music honcho, 'The Truth', leaves him signed into a ten-year contract with Straight Pimpin' Records, Truth's record company. Oscar becomes an overnight star and is now popularly known as 'Bombay'. Download Platinum Illusions to be a part of Oscar's rise to fame and stardom. However, Oscar soon realizes that there is something fishy about the record company he works for. With the aid of a rival music company, Oscar uncovers some dirty secrets and conspiracies hatched by the Straight Pimpin' Records. The company had a policy of getting its top artists killed as a ploy to increase record sales. This enrages 'The Truth', who makes Oscar the next target on his 'to-kill list'. Oscar makes a frantic plan to escape, but in vain. Oscar is forced to resort to gang violence, which he had long given up. But, that's the only option he has, if he wants to save himself.
