Synopsis

‘The Ward’ is a psychological thriller in every sense of that word. It pivots around a young woman, Kristen, who finds herself institutionalized in what looks like a mental asylum.

She has no knowledge of who she is and how she got there. All she knows is that she is not safe, and has to forge and escape to save her life. She has bruises and cut marks all over her body, and is drugged and isolated in a solitary confinement ward of the asylum. The institution is full of other young women like her, and all of them seem to be disoriented and on the verge of total madness. She soon learns that no girl has ever been able to leave the asylum and return to their private, normal lives.  Some of them have disappeared, never to be heard about again. As you watch John Carpenter’s The Ward online, you get the shock of your lifetime. The movie is replete with mystery, gore and suspense, with Kristen trying to figure out what is going on. Making matters worse is her spooky psychiatrist, who seems to be intent on doing more harm than good to his patients, and the ghosts that she can feel hovering around her. Is everything really as horrid as it seems, or is she out of her mind, and simply making things up?

That remains to be seen and you would know if you download John Carpenter’s The Ward. Amber Heard’s performance in the movie has earned her wide critical acclaim, and deservedly so. You can enjoy every bit of this shudder-inducing thrill extravaganza in HD quality and superlative audio output by getting a stream of the movie right away. The movie definitely lives up to its director’s legacy, justifying his decade-long hiatus.
